Russell Jones & Walker has tied up with insurer Hiscox to launch a business which will provide insurance cover and advice for lawyers and business executives undergoing regulatory difficulties.

The business, which was launched at beginning of last month (1 October), includes two new products called 4Expertprotect and 4Execprotect, targeted at lawyers and business directors respectively. Russell Jones will offer advice and help in relation to financial and regulatory issues such as white-collar crime, with Hiscox providing insurance.

Lawyers and businesses sign up to a package that includes insurance cover from Hiscox and access to two telephone lines - a proactive line for guidance and advice, and a 24-hour crisis line.

The cost of the package - aimed mainly at small law firms and businesses - will start from £645 a year.

The venture was put together by management and regulatory partner Gary Gallen, who joined Russell Jones earlier this year from Andrew Jackson as the firm's first lateral equity partner hire. Advice will be provided by lawyers and paralegals from Russell Jones' Manchester office.

In addition, the firm is working with accountants RSM Bentley Jennison and IT forensic company Sapphire, which will also provide advice.

Russell Jones already owns a number of established brands including Claims Direct, which targets the volume personal injury market.
