Protect Yourself with General Liability Insurance

Liability Insurance for Personal Trainers, clients turn to you for expert advice on health and fitness. Unfortunately, they can just as easily turn on you if they believe the exercise program you recommended caused their illness or injury. The number of clients suing their trainers for negligence has risen dramatically in the past few years, and many of these lawsuits have resulted in awards of substantial sums of money.

How Does General Liability Insurance Help?

General liability insurance helps you by protecting you from financial loss. Without insurance, if a client is injured and sues you for negligence, you would have to pay for losses out of your own pocket.

When you teach at a facility that someone else owns, their insurance does not cover you and will not protect you! Most gyms and schools require you to have your own general liability insurance.

Choose the Coverage You Need

You can choose the general liability limit you need:

- $136 premium, fully earned: $500,000 per occurrence/$1.5 million aggregate
- $171 premium, fully earned: $1 million per occurrence/$3 million aggregate

Fully earned means that if you cancel your liability insurance for personal trainers policy, your premium will not be refunded. Per occurrence is the maximum amount Markel will pay for each covered claim. Aggregate is the maximum amount Markel will pay for all covered claims combined. (Where permitted by law.)

This general liability policy is offered through PersonalTrainerInsurance.com, a Markel partner agency.
